I can help you with anything from a simple classroom activity to a full course redesign.

I've been teaching since 1999, and over the years I've developed a lot of materials, taught a lot of courses, and spent an unreasonable amount of time figuring out how to make instructional technology do what I want it to do. 😆

I share many of my resources and tutorials for free, and I intend to keep doing that. But if you'd rather have someone create something for you, customize an existing resource, or help you work through a problem, I'm also available for paid consultations and projects.

Some examples of services I provide include:

Individual Consultations

Need help with a specific teaching or technology problem? This could range from a 15-minute chat to extensive involvement in designing or redesigning a course and its materials.

Consultation rate: $50/hour. For larger projects, I'm happy to discuss a project-based fee.

Canvas Course Design and Customization

I can help you create Canvas courses that are accessible, organized, easy for students to navigate, and (perhaps most importantly) sustainable for the instructor to maintain.

Services include:

Custom Canvas homepages, navigation menus, and HTML/CSS templates
Accessible buttons, layouts, and course materials
Interactive learning-target checklists and other embedded activities
Course organization and module design
Streamlining repetitive course maintenance
Redesigning existing materials to improve accessibility and usability

I particularly enjoy finding ways to make Canvas do things it wasn't necessarily designed to do, without creating additional work for the instructor every semester.

Custom Online Content

I've created extensive sets of online instructional materials and mostly self-grading homework assignments for courses including Elementary Spanish I and II, Spanish Grammar and Composition, Spanish Phonetics, and Spanish Linguistics.

I can modify existing content or create custom materials, including online assignments, quizzes, instructional videos, handouts, and other resources.

Some activities require instructor grading, but wherever appropriate, I try to build in immediate feedback and opportunities for students to practice independently.

I can also help instructors develop materials for Canvas and other online learning environments.

Lesson Plans and Classroom Activities

Need a lesson plan or classroom activity?

Just provide the topic, class size, and student language proficiency. Learning objectives are also helpful, but not required.

I can develop individual activities, complete lessons, or sets of materials.

Activities are available in Spanish and English only. While I've studied various other languages, I feel confident that any attempt to design an activity in them would result in something disastrous, funny, or possibly both.

I also have many materials available for free on this website, so please check those out before paying me to create something you might already be able to use!

Assessment Development and Review

I have professional experience writing standardized assessment items for alternate English language proficiency assessments, as well as conducting assessment bias reviews.

I can assist with:

Writing assessment items aligned with learning objectives
Developing quizzes, tests, and question banks
Reviewing assessments for clarity, accessibility, and potential bias
Creating rubrics and proficiency-based assessments
Designing assessments for online or classroom use

Workshops and Professional Development

I'm available to provide hands-on workshops and professional development sessions, either virtually or in person.

Possible topics include instructional technology, Canvas course design, accessibility, sustainable course development, and practical applications of AI for teachers.

Workshops can be customized for individual departments, schools, or larger groups.

Spanish Educator Support and Praxis Preparation

I'm not currently offering regular tutoring services. However, I'm happy to schedule one free consultation with Spanish educators preparing for the World Language Praxis exam to help develop a study strategy.

I can also consult with educators on Spanish language instruction, curriculum, and assessment.

If you've spent any time on this site, you know that I give away a lot of resources. I also spend a fair amount of time explaining how I created things so that other teachers can do the same thing themselves.

I have no intention of stopping that. However, 2026 has been just a wonderful, fun-filled year.

In May, our water heater leaked and caused extensive damage to our house. We're talking kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, and a basement bedroom. Months later, we're still dealing with reconstruction, insurance, and expenses that keep piling up. So, while I'll continue sharing resources and tutorials for free, I'm also making myself available for paid consultations and custom projects.
